This weekend we arranged a transport from Nami in Ridderkerk, via de Nieuwe Maas and Hoek Van Holland to the North Sea. The barge Caroline was loaded with a jacket, total height 43 meters and 1290 ton weight. We had to pass several bridges, and the passage of the bridge ‘De Hef’ was a well calculated but very tight fit. But all went well and unit delivered in time.

Manora arranged the transport of 8 heavy lifts from Zeebrugge on the Cosco vessel Da Zi Yun, for one of our customers, to China. The units, the largest measuring 60 x 8 x 8 meters and weighing 245 ton, were shifted from a nearby yard and some warehouses to the terminal using deeploaders and SPMT. After safe loading, the cargo was lashed and welded on deck, and was shipped to Xinsha Port, where it was, in the middle of Chinese Newyear, transhipped onto barges. After customs clearance, the cargo continued the journey on the barges, and was meantime delivered safely to the final destination.

Over the last few weeks, we loaded in several voyages the top and bottom sections of the Blyth Offshore windfarm project. With each + 300 ton, it was quite a challenge to design and built the seafastening in time for the first sailing. In some 2 days per trip, the cargoes will be transported to Newcastle, to be offloaded at the Offshore terminal, and be installed offshore during spring.Another successful project for Manora Logistics.

Manora Logistics has organised the transport of total 13 barges and 2 pushboats from Colombia to Argentina. Each of the units measures 65 x 16 meters. The cargo was loaded on two semi submersible vessels at Cartagena, and discharged off Zarate in Argentina. Manora organised the bundling of barges, the transport on the semi submersible, as well as the unbundling in Argentina. We had our people on the ground in Colombia and Argentina, who coordinated the entire project. Another successful project for Manora. Many thanks to all involved.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, Manora Logistics assisted in the positioning of the pedestrian bridge in the marina of Cadzand, The Netherlands. With a length of 85 meters and 160 ton weight, it was quite a challenge, especially in view of the limited waterdepth and the tides in the port. Finally we  arranged the lifting and positioning with the sheerleg “Cormorant”, and used 6 steel slings, which were connected to the crane’s hook. All went well and in 1,5 hours, the bridge was laid down in its final position. Another nice project for Manora. A big thank you to all partners involved!

Since a few weeks we have been delivering the components for a new windfarm, Dudgeon Offshore, to the Netherlands. 67 units, loaded on 17 voyages, each unit 434 ton heavy, 30,5 meters high and 8 meters in diameter will be delivered before end of this summer. They will be installed 32 km north of Cromer, UK,off the coast of Norfolk, in the North Sea. The windfarm is owned by Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited and will, once operational in 2017, provide renewable energy for up to 410,000 households in the UK. Another successful project for Manora ! Manora Logistics delivered the first badge of 6 transition pieces for the new windfarm “Rampion” at the terminal of Verbrugge in Flushing. A pontoon, assisted by two tugs, and equipped with steel grillage and clamps, delivered the 250 ton units, after which they were offloaded on the terminal using a crawler crane. In a few months the foundations will be installed in the English Channel, off the South East coast of the UK. After completion by E.ON, the 116 unit of 3,45 MW, will deliver power to 290.000 UK families and save some 600.000 ton CO2 annually. Another nice achievement for Manora!

Manora Logistics was involved in the transport of jackets and offshore high voltage substations for the Godewind and Gemini Windfarms, with individual weights over 2000 ton. Our team arranged the tugs and pontoons, equipped with ballasting systems. Also the jackets, on which the substations were positioned offshore, were transported on barges arranged by Manora. Another successful project to be added to our trackrecord. Thanks to all involved!

Begin August, Egypt will inaugurate the Suez Canal expansion. The 72 km new canal, which involved dredging some 250 million cubic meters of sand, and runs partly alongside the existing canal, will reduce the waiting time of vessels by half. And after being involved in the mobilisation last year, we are now also handling the return of equipment to Europe and Asia. The first vessel loaded heavy cargoes upto 380 ton uw for Europe, whereas the second one is now loading equipment for Asia.

Manora Logistics  was asked to assist in transport of a counterweight carrier from Saudi Arabia to Brazil. The cargo consisted of a frame of 13 x 4 x 2,5 meters with a weight of 40 ton and 2 wheel sets, each 43 ton. The cargo was first transported by trucks from Jubail to Damman, and loaded there as breakbulk cargo onto a Maersk container vessel, whereas some other cargoes stuffed onto flatrck. The heavy cargo was loaded onto platforms and lashed on board of the vessel. Not an easy shipment, but cargo now well underway to Rio in Brazil! Thanks for all hard work.

Manora Logistics successfully completed the deliveries of the foundations of the Kentish Flats Extension Project to Sheerness. 2 pontoons were equipped with grillage and sea fastening and were commuting, supported by tugboat ‘En Avant 1’, on a approximately 7 day roundtrip to the port in the UK, loaded each time with 2 monopiles of 230 ton and 2 cages of 52 ton. There all units were taken direct onboard of the Installation vessel ‘NEPTUNE’. Meantime also the last foundation was already installed offshore. A very fast and smooth project. Many thanks to all involved!

Manora Logistics was requested by our customer to arrange the transport of a jacket, total some 700 ton, in 3 pieces, where the tallest piece had a height of 51 meters, from the Antwerp Rightbank to Eemshaven in The Netherlands. We organised all the transport equipment, design and installation of grillage and sea fastening, ballasting operations, port activities, permits and certification etc…. In 2 days the jacket units were loaded and  firmly welded on the top of the pontoon. Thereafter some extra ballasting alongside the beautiful Scheldt River side. With fair weather, the convoy, supported by 2 tugs, left from Antwerp, and safely arrived in Eemshaven for the load in process some 2 days later. After this process, the pontoon is being cleaned, and grillage removed, after which it will be returned to the owners. Another successful project for the Manora team.

Manora Logistics organised the transport of heavy construction equipment on tracks and wheels from Male, in The Maladives to Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Due to draft restrictions in the Maladives, the cargo was hauled on pontoons alongside the vessel, and loaded on board using the ship’s gear from the m/v Borkum. Cargo loaded included wheel loaders, dump trucks, bulldozers, excavators,etc… but also some containers, gensets etc… For loading special slings and nettings were arranged to safely lift cargo on board. Due to the loading area it was a challenging task, but all went well thanks to the good cooperation between all parties : the customer, shipping line, agents, local stevedores and Manora. A big thank you therefore to all involved !

Together with our partners in the Middle East, Manora Logistics organised the removal of a second hand factory from France. All cargo was loaded onto trucks or into containers, procured by us on behalf of customer, transported from site to terminal in Ottmarsheim, transported to Antwerp via the river Rhine by barge, and shipped from there on container and breakbulk vessels to final destination. Our involvement ends as soon as the containers land in the discharge port, where they will be taken over by the buyers, for erection of the factory on the new location. 3 months work so far, several transports of breakbulk and containerised cargoes, including dry van containers, open top and flat racks. In a few months from now, the new factory will be working at full speed again, producing car clutches for the local market. Manora Logistics organised the transport of pallets loaded with flexible rubber hoses, 12 meters in length, and some cases with fittings and ancillary equipment. Due to the urgency of the cargo, the loads were picked up by truck in the UK, transported to the airport in Luik, where a Boeing 747 full cargo was chartered and waiting for the cargo to be flown out directly to Luanda, where cargo was delivered locally by trucks to the customer. Another successful completion, and thanks to all involved !!!

Manora Logistics was requested to organize transport of 4 locomotives, each 18 meter long, each approx 90 ton, from South Africa to South America. The cargo was transported from inland using modular trailers, and delivered just in time for direct overboard loading. We supervised all operations, arranged for transport and vessel and coordinated between various parties, together with our colleagues in South Africa. The cargo was meantime safely loaded and is underway to South America. In discharge port the locomotives will be discharged immediately onto railway tracks using ship’s gear.

Manora Logistics was requested to organise the transport of a port handling crane – a so called fixed cargo crane – from Europe, to Barranquilla, Colombia. Part of cargo was delivered by truck, and the pedestal from Rostock by coastal vessel. Manora was responsible for the handling in the port of Antwerp and the transport till final destination in Colombia.

Cargo was loaded on Spliethoff’s m/v Aalsmeergracht, and is now safely underway to destination. Thanks to all parties for good cooperation!

As part of a ongoing demobilisation project from Australia, Manora Logistics organised the return of 2 cable reels. Each reel measures 6 x 4,8 x 4,5 meters, and is full with a 1500 meters winching wire. The weight is 131,5 ton per unit. The cargo was first transported from Onslow to Fremantle, where together with our local partners, we loaded the cargo on a Spliethoff vessel to Singapore, and offloaded there for shipment on a Chipolbrok vessel to Europe. As soon as the cargo arrives in Europe, we will load it on barge, and deliver same to the customer in The Netherlands. Both pricing and timing were crucial for this project, and Manora Logistics succeeded in making the difference. A big thank you to all involved!

Manora Logistics successfully completed the deliveries for the Middle East Project, by arranging the last transport of balance cargoes from mainland China to Al Jubial, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A somewhat smaller cargo of 3900 freight ton was loaded on barges, taken to Hong Kong, where as before it was loaded on the main vessel, m/v Thorco Cloud. Due to the height of cargo, this was a somewhat challenging transport, as cargoes could not be loaded in lower hold without also opening the tweendecks. However all problems were resolved, Vessel sailed and meantime all cargo safely delivered in Jubail. We would like to thank once more all parties involved, the customer was really exited about our performance!

Manora Logistics was requested by our customer to arrange for an urgent shipment from Korea to the Middle East of a Bridge Crane, existing of 23 pieces of general cargo, cased and loose. The transport was especially challenging as there was a specific time constraint, and the project in the Middle East would come to a standstill if cargo did not reach in time. Together with our partners in Asia, we worked out a solution in just 2 days time, and offered it to the client, who immediately accepted. Cargo was loaded and is meantime well underway for a delivery as scheduled. Many thanks to the shipping line and our Asian partner for again an excellent job done!
